WOODFORD Lodge pupil Lyndsey Brogue insist she was the first person to find out about her excellent GCSE results last Thursday.

Her mum, Lorraine, who works in the school's office, was not allowed to sneak even a quick look at the grades, which included four As and an A*.

Karen Ellison was Woodford Lodge's most impressive performer with five A*s and four As, followed by Stacey Ellison, with three A*s and five As.

Sports captain and national triple jumper Helen Williams proved that she can excel indoors as well with with five As, one A* and three Bs.

Overall, 95 per cent of students passed in five or more subjects.
