HEAD boy Andrew Sellors really lived up to his title at Middlewich High School - by getting the best GSCE results.

He gained six A*s, four As and a B.

Head girl Gemma McShane was not to be left out. She got four A*s, four As and three Bs - equal on points with Chris Rothwell whose certificate showed three A*s, six As and two Bs.

The results were the second best achieved in the school's 20 year history, just one percentage point behind last year's record figures.

Mr Andrews said: "Eight subjects - art, English, food studies, science, physical education, textiles, religious education and information systems - achieved their best results since our school was founded.

"I am very proud of our pupils and their teachers who have worked so hard for this success."

The results were -
