IT was incredible to see so many good humoured wonderful people having such a brilliant time in Matthew Street and at the party at the pier on Bank Holiday Monday.

It was phenomenal - thousands upon thousands of people just raving and having fun!

This is going to be a big festival set in stone to rival the Mardi Gras in Manchester and Notting Hill.

I hope critics will now stop knocking Liverpool and the surrounding areas - we can enjoy ourselves and have fun without a spot of trouble.

I THINK James Hewitt is an absolute pig! Love or hate Diana, she doesn't deserve what he is about to do. Launching his new book on the second anniversary of her death is sick, selfish and repugnant. I only hope the public will judge him for what he is - a callous cad!

THEY are talking about introducing 24-hour drinking. I went over to Manchester to see it for myself and it does work. Lots of callers to my phone-in think it is a good idea. So many people do shift work, they like to be able to go for a drink when they finish. In the end, I'm sure market forces will decide if it'll be a winner or not.

SUNDAY shopping was introduced five years ago and seems to have really taken off. I must admit I felt guilty the first time I went shopping on a Sunday, it seemed strange. But, I think it's a good thing. It creates jobs and gives couples and families a chance to go out together. I would still prefer 24-hour shopping - that's definitely a bonus. No one pushing and shoving trollies at you. I do my shopping in Tesco's at 3am - it's so civilised. I can take my time and really enjoy mooching round without being rushed.

THANK-YOU very much for all your cards and kind wishes! I am overwhelmed by your support. I have received more than 450 cards and so many flowers, it is unbelievable! I really do appreciate all your gifts and messages.
