LIFELINE, the agency that works with drug users and their families, is setting up a support group in Halton this September.

Having a drug user in the family can be devastating and Lifeline strives to offer help to relatives who may struggle to cope with the users behaviour, or accept with the fact that someone close to them has turned to drugs.

They also help people deal with their disappointment when a drug user continues with a habit which they know is devastating for the people around them, and the feeling of rejection when a user turns to drugs for help rather than asking those close to them for help.

Lifeline has already run three groups over the past 18 months. They allow people to support each other to help themselves and the user. There is also an opportunity to speak to reformed drug users to gain an insight into their thoughts and feelings.

The meetings have been a great sucess and have helped many people overcome their initial despair and come to terms with the situations they face. If you would like to know more about the group call Lifeline on 01925 653261.
