I HAVE waited for ages to see the Lion King. It was on the Royal Command Performance this week but the magic was obscured by arty-farty TV directors! I'm sick to death of cameramen doing trick shots. I wanted to see how these spectacular animals moved, not fancy close-ups.

THANK-YOU very much to everyone in Widnes and Runcorn who rang my phone-in show on Radio City this week about whinging scousers. I was inundated with calls and after four hours, we concluded that scousers do nothing but complain! They laugh at others but they don't like being laughed at. For example, they're really jealous of Man Utd. Liverpool FC was a great club but they don't like Manchester getting everything. Manchester city centre was blown up yet they just got on with it and re-built everything. If that had happened in Liverpool, scousers would still be moaning. They whinge all the time and seem to be anti-everybody.

ISN'T it sad that young people today do not know what a traditional Christmas is? It would be lovely not to have so much commercialism and spend so much money on presents. To have a nice old-fashioned Christmas, sitting round a log fire with a piano in the parlour and looking forward to turkey. We only had chicken when I was small, turkey was a luxury! You wouldn't be able to sleep after 4am, you'd be so excited waiting for Santa to bring oranges and apples and one main present. There'd be the nuts you could never crack and the gifts you'd love from one aunty and dread from another. So many happy memories. It's a shame today's teenagers have never experienced such simple joy.
