THE wintry weather conditions wiped out all but two of the Warrington Sunday Soccer League fixtures.

Both games played were in Division Five where Thelwall Manor moved to the top of the table with a resounding 8-2 victory against Cholmondeley Arms.

On target for Thelwall were Mark Harrison, Gavin Moreton, Mike Corrie, Danny Goulding, Jonathan Kane and Gary Smith, with two own goals completing their scoring. Replying for Colmondeley were Gareth Clancey and Mark Miller.

A late John Fitzsimmons goal gave Insall Rangers the points at Churchills, winning 3-2. Earlier Fitzsimmons and Danny Kewley had cancelled out strikes by Steve Helsby and Stuart Quinett.

ESL trail Thelwall by one point, followed by Red Lion and Gas Social.

On Sunday top of the Premier Division Cheshire Hawthorne visit third placed Howley and champions Grange Valley travel to bottom of the table Penny Black, who are still searching for their first league point.

North Cheshire Celtic will be hoping to close the gap on Division One front runners Kembledean in their game at Eight Towers.

Division Two sees Poacher attempt to upset leaders Culcheth while Division Three pacesetters BT Rolatruc face a difficult trip to unbeaten Commercial.

There will be no fixtures on December 26 or January 2 with the programme due to restart on January 9.
