WARRINGTON Wolves pack star Dean Busby will be fit for the start of the Challenge Cup in February despite having an operation this week.
The back rower hit form in his first year with the Wolves in 1999 but has been struggling in pre-season training with a groin injury.
He had an operation yesterday, Wednesday, to make sure the problem is cured.
Wolves boss Darryl Van de Velde said: "Dean will probably miss out on the Lanzarote training camp next month but he will be right for the start of the season."
