A STAR studded cast and a film crew descended on leafy Lymm village on Wednesday to shoot a wedding scene for top BBC drama Clocking Off.

The cast were bundled into St Mary's Church in the village for the best part of the morning after picking the location for its traditional and picturesque setting.

The second part of the series centres on a close knit community of family and friends who work at Mackintosh Textiles where nothing is sacred.

Writer Paul Abbott delves into the lives of the characters who continue to share messy, passionate but tender dramas on a daily basis.

Each week the life of a different worker is exposed with their deepest darkest secrets brought from the secrecy of the factory floor into the spotlight.

The storylines range from child abuse, gold-digging, violent hijacks and pools winners coupled with in with some unlikely romances.

And the Lymm scene shows the relationship between devoted secretary Trudy, played by Lesley Sharpe and Martin, played by Jason Merrells culminate with wedding bells pealing through the village.

The Rev Keith Maudsley of St Mary's church said he was very pleased to help out the producers and welcomed the cast to the village.

"We are delighted that the church is able to offer a suitable venue," he said.
