SPY in the sky cameras are due to scan Congleton Park as part of ambitious plans to revamp it.
The installation of CCTV is one key element in improving security at the park, which is seen as essential to its future success.
Members of the park's joint management committee say it would be necessary to install two CCTV cameras to provide effective coverage.
They would scan the play area, front and back of the pavilion, the propagation unit and also the Mill Green entrance.
The extra cost of providing two cameras is proposed to be met by cutting down on the number of new and improved lighting columns for the park.
The Jubilee Pavilion is due to be transformed into a cafe, complete with a bar, and the bungalow is earmarked for refurbishment into a park rangers office and meeting room.
The final design for the park revamp was due to be completed by the end of last month.
