DETECTIVES working on an unsolved murder have received a number of calls from the public after a 10th anniversary appeal.

Stoke-on-Trent taxi driver Steven Johnson was murdered just before Christmas 1990 in an horrific attack near Mow Cop Castle.

Since then thousands of people have been interviewed by the police and had finger prints taken, but no-one has been brought to justice for the appalling crime.

Ten years on from the murder police launched a public appeal in the hope of jogging people's memories about anything suspicious they may have seen on the day.

The appeal prompted a number of calls, and anyone who has information which may be of help to detectives working on the case is asked to ring Staffordshire Police on 01785-234996.
