TROUBLE spots in Warrington have been targeted by police, who have put more bobbies on the beat.
The scheme, which has seen extra vans driving around troubled areas on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, was piloted before Christmas. It has brought a reduction in violent crimes across Warrington and is set to continue.
Cobbs Estate in Stockton Heath is one area which has seen a bigger police presence since a 36-year-old man, from Bridge Lane, was assaulted in his garden by five youths just before Christmas.
Dean Richardson, Community Sergeant at Stockton Heath, said that the police are investigating and are progressing with their enquiries, but are still asking for any witnesses to come forward.
If you can help, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
