CONGRATULATIONS to 'Phew Bear' you hit the nail right on the head: Warrington is a mess.
The interest being on outsiders, clubs, public houses, more super-markets waiting to be built, and now a larger tip. Is this just for the locals?
To see our market closing stalls weekly, shops which older residents have grown up with, closing our wonderful Wilderspool with a death sentence hanging over it is all very sad for me to witness this.
I am all for progression but in the right direction. The £1,000,000 3C Waste money once split up will not go very far and it will not alter the dead land around Warrington, certainly not to extending Arpley.
There are expensive houses being built in the area, they will need the tip in the future and for everyone else's waste to. Once full we will have to pay 3C Waste (probably through the nose) to take the rubbish away!
So a fast buck now will cost us more in the future.
Let us think long term in this matter, for our Warrington and districts, the locals must come first, after all our roots are here.
