I HAVE read the article in the Midweek GUARDIAN about the emergency contraceptive pill, in which you stated that although it is legally possible to buy this pill from January 1, pharmacists will not sell it over the counter until they have undertaken further training.
This is correct, but may give the impression that this pill is not available at all.
I wish to make readers aware that this pill has been available on free prescription from General Practitioners and free from all Warrington Community Trust Contraception and Sexual Health Clinics for the past year and will continue to be so.
I am concerned that readers may get the impression that this pill will not be available until pharmacists are trained to sell it.
