Cann, Hill, Goddard and Dean were strong in the forwards. There was solid defence from Files, Whittaker and Mather, plus evasive running from Milbourne, Boyce and Thomason.

A close game but West Bank held their lead despite constant pressure from Latchford.

After going two tries down Latchford came back with a try from the strong-running Hewitt. However, they could not break down West Bank's defence again.

Great games from Atherton, Wilson, Antell, Hewitt and McIntosh, who's defence is improving. Strong running from Southworth and Budgen.

RYLANDS adapted better to the cold, muddy conditions to see off a spirited Royton side.

Matt Goss and Joel Harrigan made good ground. Man of the match Joe Moore and top tackler Jack Reid were outstanding in defence.

Tries were scored by Liam Walsh, Moore, two, Reid, two and Harrigan, two. Lewis Bennett kicked Rylands' only conversion.

THE progress of the Latchford team can be measured by this performance against a side they had not previously beaten.

Tenacious defence from top tackler Chris Hall, Britton, Dearden, Chance and Sam Jones restricted a powerful and skilful Hindley side to three tries.

In attack Dobson and Rigby featured strongly while the try scorers were Joe Mellor, three, Jack Cooper, two, Ross Pendlebury and Ben Reynolds.

THE Sharks scored some spectacular tries and solid defence kept Bamber Bridge scoreless.

Rylands' tries were scored by Duffy, three, Cooper, Gordon, Litherland, Risley and Driscoll with Cooper, Gordon, Duffy, Risley, Boardman and Lee kicking a goal each.

Gordon was man of the match, James was top tackler and Nick Bate, with his best game of the season, took the special award.

DESPITE dominating the first half Crosfields failed to find a gap in Hindley's defence and were unlucky to be 10-0 down at half-time.

Both teams tired after the break. Crosfields showed a great deal of improvement in all departments.

Man of the match was O. Downie, top tackler was S. Hendrick and the coach's award went to S. Duffy.

LATCHFORD progressed into the final of the Lancashire Cup with an impressive victory.

It was a good team performance with Mike Linaker having a strong defensive game and Ben Mellor showing strength in attack.

Jono Smith opened Albion's account. Tony Alderman's well worked try made it 8-0 at half-time.

Alderman scored his second try. Golborne pulled back six points to leave the game in a tense spot but Hill and Mike Cooper tries sealed it.

Man of the match was L. Caldwell and J. Goulden. Tries came from G. Hewitt and C. Wilcock. C. White kicked two goals.

An outstanding defensive effort in the second half laid the platform for Crosfields to win as C. Hull scored two tries, both converted by himself, and kicked a penalty.

No player could be singled out for man of the match in a superb team display.

RYLANDS ran out comfortable winners against a spirited Bury side.

Tries were scored by Martin Williamson, Byron Houghton, Chris Johnson, Jon Walker, James Howard, Shane Holcroft, Rob Turner, Mike Thomason, Ash Francis, Chris Sherratt, Jason Garrathy and Jimmie Bostock. Bostock converted seven and Houghton three.

Soap, 6-2 behind going into the break, closed the gap to two points with a penalty goal.

Another Blackbrook try and Soap penalty gave the home team the advantage. Best for Soap were C. Heslop, D. Saxon and M. Johnson.

Mark Pickles, back from injury, led the way scoring one try and making another.

New goal kicker Neil Walsh improved two of Soap's three tries. Recent signing Phil Ogilvie continued to impress around the pack.

Crosfields started with a try from Kilshaw. Blackbrook replied before Mellor scored for Soap.

After half-time tries from Mellor and Graham gave Soap a cushion only for Blackbrook to score again.

Kilshaw's try rounded off a superb victory.
