RUMOURS circulated around Northwich that terrorists could be targeting Chester have been dismissed by Cheshire Police.
An investigation has taken place into allegations surrounding a potential bomb threat in the city, which have been circulating throughout the area over the past two weeks.
The rumours have centred on incidents whereby a man queues up at a shop till, only to find he is short of money to pay.
When a fellow shopper helps him out, the man reportedly thanks them and then issues a warning to stay out of Chester city centre.
But a spokesman for Cheshire Police said they are treating the bomb threat as nothing more than an urban myth.
