Stalybridge Celtic 2 Mond Rangers Ladies 3

MOND Rangers Ladies played their first game of the season against newly promoted Stalybridge Celtic, who had lost all their previous games in the Premier Division of the North West League.

The home side took the lead on 20 minutes as Mond took time to find their feet but within five minutes, Kerry Jones had struck the equaliser and Paula Ferguson then burst through the defence to give the visitors the lead.

Rita McHugh kept Mond ahead with a vital save and seconds later Amy Jones put Mond 3-1 ahead.

Despite servere pressure in the second half and finishing the game with nine players, Mond Rangers held on bravely for three very valuable points.

Mond Rangers, who play at Pavilions, Runcorn, are always on the lookout for more players and if you are interested please ring Louise Dixon on 0151 291 5118.
