AN ARSON attack caused an estimated £100,000 worth of damage at a Widnes factory at the weekend.
A massive blaze broke out at PEC Pallets in Everite Road, Ditton on Sunday evening.
Six fire appliances tackled the flames.
A spokesman for Widnes Fire Brigade, said: "There was the potential for the fire to spread to other premises.
"However, firefighting action contained the incident.
"We are regarding it as a serious arson attack and will be working closely with the company and police to find those who caused the damage."
Around 50 calls were received from members of the public, to alert the fire brigade.
