EXPECT the unexpected as Halton Haven Hospice prepares to stage a murder mystery evening.

The charity has teamed up with Runcorn's luxurious Lawson House to host an alternative Christmas party, on Saturday, December 1.

Professional TV actors will keep diners intrigued with an action packed plot, entitled The Unusual Suspects'.

Former Brookside star Andrew Fillis, alias Gary Stanlow, of NRG Theatre Company, said: "A murder will take place and people will be asked to solve puzzles, collect clues and sort out the red herrings.

"The dcor and atmosphere of Lawson House is a perfect setting for a mystery evening. It will be set in 50's style, with the feel of Midsomer Murders.

"Guests will be able to mingle and talk to the suspects. There might be some recognisable faces as we often use professional actors who have appeared in Coronation Street and Clocking Off."

George Knight, fundraising manager of Halton Haven, said: "We wanted to do something completely different.

"The response already has been absolutely fantastic. The tickets are selling like hot cakes. I would like to thank Lawson House and Andrew Fillis for their efforts."

Tickets priced £30, including a three course Christmas dinner, are available from Halton Haven 01928-712728 or Lawson House 01928-593300.
