WINNINGTON Park Recreation Club will be the venue for a Bluegrass evening later this week.
The Baker's Fabulous Boys are appearing at the Park Road club this Friday, September 28, starting at 8.30pm.
Their set is described as mainly straight bluegrass music with a progressive touch, featuring fluent flatpicking, driving base and innovative banjo work.
The line-up for the band is Lorraine Baker on lead vocals and bass, Russell Williams on lead vocals and mandolin, Stuart Williams on guitar, fiddle and harmony vocals, and Johnny Hulme, on banjo and harmony vocals.
Both Johnny and Stuart are former banjo champions at the Edale Bluegrass Festival, with Stuart also collecting honours as a guitar champion.
Tickets for the event, priced £5 and £4 concessions, are available from Northwich library or by ringing the DAN office on 01606 41597.
