NORTHWICH Rowing Club held its Annual General Meeting last week and re-elected Cliff Salt as president.
Cliff, 83, still plays a very active role in the club and frequently takes the cox's seat during training on the Weaver when he can safely claim to be the oldest active cox in the country.
Kevin Jump remains as chairman of the club, but has relinquished his post as regatta chairman to club newcomer Bryan Johnson.
Carolyn MacRitchie and Keith Mackie continue as secretary and treasurer. Chairman of the Head of the River races is Faith Murray, house chairman is Dave Street and social organiser is Karen Airie. Bar secretary is Dave Frazer and Jane Palfreyman is membership secretary. All committee places have been filled.
Lee Bradley, retiring captain, reported on the excellent year which the club have had and he has now handed over this key role to Graham Williams, another newcomer.
The next big event for the club is the George Musker Awards - the annual prizegiving - in mid October. Keen competition for prizes is expected as the club has had six junior internationals this year as well as the usual haul of British regatta wins
