SUPPORTERS of Northwich Victoria and Witton Albion have arranged a meeting concerning the future of both clubs.

An invitation has been sent out to fans, directors and major shareholders to attend the Memorial Hall on Thursday, October 11.

Clive Penny and Philip Flavell have organised the meeting, although they are trying to get someone with a neutral interest to chair it.

Witton supporter Flavell said: "We don't want abuse, we want straight answers to straight questions."

Vics fan Penny has drafted a list of questions which will, effectively, act as an agenda to the night's events.

They are:

What is the future of Wincham Park?

Is the Drill Field to be sold for £2.4 million or a lesser figure?

Where is the outline planning permission for the Drill Field?

What is the budget and detail for the construction of a Conference standard ground?

How can two clubs share one ground under new Conference regulations?

Is amalgamation possible? Is it realistic? How much support would it command?

Are football fans not entitled to the truth?

Anxiety amongst both sets of fans has been aroused by the re-appearance of Witton's major shareholder Terry Warrender, who had two resolutions passed at an EGM last week.

But he insists he has been clear in his reasons for calling them.

He said: "As a shareholder I want the club to prove to me that it's solvent.

"I also want Witton to get together with Vics and share a new ground. There's no hidden agenda."

However, with FA plans to stop Conference clubs ground sharing by 2003, many supporters believe amalgamation must be the only way forward if the two parties are to meet each other.

Vics president Derek Nuttall maintained last week that they are progressing with their move to Wincham, while Albion claim their accounts, set to be revealed at an AGM on October 22, will satisfy Warrender's concerns.

However, both Nuttall and Albion chairman Mike Worthington have stated in the past week that the door has never been closed to further discussion between the clubs, regardless of Warrender's mandate.
