MIDDLEWICH Town boss Dave Twite won't need to do much spying on his opponents - he's already faced them three times this season!

Episode four of their running battle with Crewe FC comes in the Cheshire Amateur FA Cup at Seddon Street on Saturday (3pm).

Last Saturday, Middlewich's 2-1 win in the Mid Cheshire League Cup made it one win each and a draw in their meetings so far this season.

"We're playing Crewe for the fourth time in a month, so I'm glad we won the last game against them," said Twite.

"I thought we should have won more convincingly but we played well, and we're getting back to something like our best.

"We just need to keep working hard, as we did at Styal, to get results, then the good football will come."

The end of the cricket season has automatically strengthened the Town squad, as Simon Nutting and full back Rick Lea, who finished last season so impressively, returned at the weekend.

Chris Melia is also back from suspension to challenge for a place up front with the young strike partnership of Stuart Tulloch and Liam Goulding.

"I've been impressed with both of those lads since they came into the team," added Twite.

Next Thursday, October 4, Middlewich hope for a repeat of last season's big cup shock.

They travel to Nantwich Town in the Mid Cheshire Senior Cup, the same venue and competition in which they beat the same opponents less than a year ago (7.45pm).
