IT'S Blackpool in September and a couple look back on their life together as they make their annual pilgrimage to the seaside resort they first visited 30 years ago.

Yorkshireman Jack and his wife, Liz have spent a lifetime of hard earned holidays in a boarding house, eating chips on the front and paddling in the sea.

September In The Rain by John Godber is being staged at Chester's Gateway Theatre from Tuesday, October 2 to Thursday, October 4.

It is a bitter sweet comedy about married life with all its triumphs and regrets - the rows, the frustrations, the unsung love.

Blackpool Tower, the Big Dipper, donkeys on the beach, the Wax Works, you can almost taste the candyfloss and smell the fish and chips.

This is one of the first plays John Godber wrote for Hull Truck Theatre Company in the early 80's.

Tickets priced £8 & £10 are available from the box office on 01244-340392.
