In response to Mr Disappointed RL Fan (Points of View, September 13) say that for the last few months that a few Warrington fans have been using obscene language including shouting, swearing and racial abuse at the railway end (away supporters' end). If this is happening, I do not condone this. As you correctly state, this is a family game and things such as this need to be stamped out on the terraces of every rugby league club in the country. How you can say that there are never any stewards on hand, however, is ludicrous. Just within a few feet of both ladies' toilets there is a steward with a radio head set, two at the segregation gate, and one at gate one. There is also a steward at the ladies' toilet near to gate one, while there is also a steward at the back, on the stairwells at the front, and a steward walking at the front. There is also a supervisor who walks about constantly.

Stewards are always on the look-out for this kind of behaviour, but we also need help off supporters to bring this to our attention. Could this supporter not walk a few feet to inform a steward who wear highly visible jackets of what has been going on?

I would like to see this person watch 3,000 fans to see who is chanting abuse.

So, before said person goes criticising stewards, maybe he/she would like to become a steward next season and realise how difficult the job is.

ON BEHALF OF ALL STEWARDS, WRLFC
