A GOAL in the last 30 seconds sent Crewe FC to an agonising defeat at Middlewich in the Mid-Cheshire Cup.
Crewe lost the tie 2-1 after dominating for large periods of an entertaining but frustrating game.
Middlewich had dominated the first 15 minutes before Crewe began to over run their local rivals.
The half ended goalless but it took just 10 minutes of the second half for the deadlock to be broken .
Middlewich scored after 55 minutes, but to Crewe's credit Julian Fleet took the ball straight up to the other end and fired in a well-worked goal to draw the scores level.
Crewe continued to dominate until a wild pass left the defence wrong footed in the last minute and allowed Middlewich to score the winner.
Director of Coaching, Pat Slack, said: "It is a terrible way to lose a game after we had played so well in the second half."
Crewe again travel to Middlewich, but this time it is for the Cheshire Amateur Cup, KO 2.30pm.
