WARRINGTON Collegiate Institute is celebrating the achievements of its more mature students in an event timed to coincide with the United Nations Day of Older Learners.

The collegiate is one of nine organisations nationally to be awarded special money from the Government to support a celebration of the work of students aged 50 and over.

An event is to be held on Monday, October 1 where displays of work will be on show, there will be performances of fitness and dance routines and presentations of awards to exceptional achievers.

Collegiate principal Hilary Tucker said: "We are hoping the event will be well attended.

With a range of performances and workshops taking place, I am sure that visitors will find many things to interest them."

The free event takes place at Bold Street Methodist Church between 10am and 3pm and everyone is welcome.
