FOUR bands took to the stage last night before a crowd of music industry insiders as part of a special showcase.
Jams nightclub was the venue and Aardvark Music was the organiser as a hit list of hopefuls performed for a foot in the door of success.
The night promised something for everyone from the groups who performed on the night - Ramirez (indie rock), Shock On Arrival (nu metal), Sweet Trilogy (funky pop) and Donkey Wong (heavy metal).
They each performed five songs, which included four originals and one cover song.
Record company and recording studio representatives were invited along to check out the groups, give their verdicts, and offer pearls of wisdom on how to make it in the music business.
A charity raffle for a guitar was also held.
