THE achievements of one of the town's top organisations were celebrated on Monday as it celebrated a milestone anniversary.
Warrington Disability Information Service, WDIS, was set up 10 years ago and has gone from strength to strength, making life easier and better for those with physical and mental health conditions.
A party was held at the Town Hall for those involved in the service and presentations were made to past and present volunteers.
A special presentation was also made to the mayor on behalf of the town. WDIS received a crystal bowl from the Leonard Cheshire organisation, a national disability charity, which has been given to the town and will now be on show in the Mayor's parlour.
WDIS treasurer Audrey Rogers says the evening was a great success.
"We looked back at the milestones over the past 10 years, as well as the way forward," she said.
"The high points included the introduction of Shopmobility, Disability Awareness Day, the setting up of the market stall, and transcription service, and the creation of Pathways, a personal development programme. We also have a dedicated worker who deals with employment, education and training."
