IT HAS been an exciting month for Crewe starlet Hannah Meakin after she won the recent Starquest talent contest.

Hannah has been the recipient of numerous offers, which included singing in a West End show and working with Ken Dodd!

Thirteen-year-old Hannah was the star of the show around a month ago when she took part in Starquest in Crewe Town Centre.

It was only Hannah's second talent contest and her family only discovered her talent a year ago.

Hannah, who lives in Wistaston and attends Sandbach High School, has since been approached with numerous offers.

One would have seen her singing in a West End Theatre but unfortunately Hannah's school commitments meant she had to turn it down.

Stephanie, Hannah's mother, explained: "Hannah was offered a contract but we could not accept it because it was a full commitment for eight months and it just could not have been done.

"The first time Hannah ever sang was a year before the recent contest and she began one-two-one singing lessons and really liked it."

Hannah has also been asked to join Ken Dodd for the switching on ceremony for Nantwich's Christmas lights on December 1.

The Cheshire Wildlife Trust is also putting on a fund-raising show at Crewe's Lyceum Theatre in May and Hannah has been asked to sing for that.

This show will see Hannah sing a whole new range of numbers such as Memories, I Dream a Dream, and songs by artists such as Shania Twain.

Hannah is now looking to do voice training and is currently considering other possibilities.

Hannah's father, Arthur, added that anyone is welcome to come and hear Hannah in action as she sings every month at the Crewe Assembly of God in Stafford Street in Crewe.

Hannah is there on the third Sunday of each month and sings as part of the family service.

Stephanie added: "I do not know where she gets it from, because I don't sing, it must be a gift from God."
