A MAN who escaped police after a high-speed car chase, in which a woman pedestrian was hit, is still on the loose.
The chase was in the Nantwich Road area of Crewe, a second man was arrested after the car was abandoned in Sherwin Street.
The pedestrian, hit as the car was chased down Nantwich Road towards Crewe Rail Station, was treated in Leighton Hospital but wasn't seriously hurt.
The incident happened at 4pm on Friday, when police officers chased the Blue Vauxhall Vectra.
The other man, who was arrested at the scene, has since been charged with dangerous driving and obstructing a police officer in the course of his duty.
He has been named as James Connor, aged 26, from Nottingham and appeared before magistrates' on Monday to be remanded in custody until October 22.
A police spokesman said: "Outside the Earl of Crewe pub the car was driven along the wrong side of the road and it struck a female pedestrian."
The man who escaped has been described as a white male, of thin build and in his 30s.
