KEITH Ashcroft enjoyed double delight on Saturday when he stormed to success on Warrington and North Cheshire Bowls Association's finals day.

Competitions throughout the year had been played to the finals stage and all showdowns were concluded at Alford Hall - with Ashcroft showing his season's consistent form by contesting three of them.

The Grappenhall Ex-Serviceman's bowler, with his partner Stuart Ashcroft, defeated W. Rowson's team 31-22 in the Scottish and Newcastle Pairs final.

Not contented, Ashcroft also swept to glory in the President's Cup final. In that one he ended the trophy hopes of King and Queen's Larry Wells 21-15.

Unfortunately for Ashcroft he was not able to make it a hat-trick. In the Bowler of the Year final he met his match in King and Queen's Charlie Bebbington and lost 21-13.

The feast of quality bowls continued with St. Oswalds A edging out Grange B 71-67 to lift the Warwick Lowe crown.

Farmers Arms were not able to come to terms with Cadishead Cons' talents in the Chadwick Trophy battle and missed out on silverware by 21-12.

Dave McEllin, John Russell and Rob Warburton got the better of Kevin Wainwright's side to win the Harry Cross Cup 21-13.

The Cunningham Cup is now on Terence Mooney's shelf as the Tetley crack shot defeated King and Queen's John Clarke 21-14.
