Chris Joynt: "The conditions were very bad. We came out to warm up and then when we came out again the heavens had opened. And it was the same again for the second half.

"It was the worst rain I have played in since the World Club Challenge - which we won. But the ground was magnificent - I am all for playing in these big stadiums and I look forward to playing at the Millennium Stadium next season.

"We are all content with what we have achieved and we will enjoy this evening and then get ready for Friday.

"I would be gutted if we ever lost. We have worked hard for success. We all get on with each other and enjoy each other's company and that shows out on the park."

Sean Long: "My first final was watching Wigan and Hull and I remember Brett Kenny winning the Lance Todd and thinking that was something special and something I would like to do.

"I spoke to Tommy Martyn earlier in the week and he said it was one of the best feelings you have in life, so it will soak in tonight."

Tommy Martyn: "Winning all three trophies is something we talked about in Lanzarote even before we had beaten Brisbane. We said then what a great achievement it would be to be the first Rugby League club to have the Super League trophy, the World Club Challenge trophy and the Challenge Cup at the same time. We set our stall out there and it has come off.

"You have to play to the conditions - our defence was magnificent and we tackled like Trojans."

Ian Millward: "It was a special feeling walking up the steps at Twickenham. I am proud of my players and hope to get winners' medals for every member of the first-team squad".

Robbie Paul: "Martyn and Long taught us a lesson in the value of the kick-through today. Once Saints got the sniff of victory they went from strength to strength".

Brian Noble: "Saints out-kicked us and defended superbly. They were a trifle lucky with the Cunningham try, but there's no complaint from me because Saints showed why they are world club champions. They were more patient and composed.
