EAGLE secured a convincing win in their first league game of the season.
Eagle won more easily than the scoreline suggests and could easily have scored four or five more tries with a little more luck near the line.
As it was they needed a Barry Gettins 50-metre special and a Smith penalty to win the game. Marple''s points came from a penalty in the last minute.
Best for Eagle were Taylor, Rhodes, Holt, Barker and Hunt.
Eagle 2nds...11 Burtonwood...21
EAGLE lost in a scrappy affair at Burtonwood.
Although Eagle had the edge in the forwards it was Burtonwood's young backs that won the day.
Best for Eagle were Barker, Chriscoli and Whitehouse.
