A REFRESHED and hungry tug o'war star is gearing up to hopefully set the world on fire again this winter and mark his 25th year as a competitor in the sport.
Award-winning David Gill has the Indoor competitive season to look forward to with the AAAs in December and world championships in February 2002 the prime targets in his sights.
The 47-year-old, who won a special award at Warrington Sports Personality 2000 for his lifetime's commitment to sport, completed that particular double last year as well as winning a host of other major medals.
Gill, who lives in Stockton Heath, said: "I have not competed during the outdoor season this summer. I had a few niggling injuries and fancied a break but now I am refreshed for the winter season which starts next month.
"I haven't stopped my training at all and my aim is to win another Indoor World Championships medal."
Gill has competed for England for the last 18 years.
