A WATERLOO hat-trick has topped off a wonderful season for a Warrington green queen.
Blackpool's Waterloo Hotel has been a happy hunting ground all year for St. Oswalds' ace Les Smith and she lifted her third piece of silverware there at the weekend.
In doing so, Smith ended the hat-trick hopes of another of Warrington's green queens.
Smith defeated her arch-rival from Warrington Karen Johnstone to lift the Champion of Champions on Sunday.
Previously this year Smith and Johnstone had been partners to win the Waterloo Pairs. Smith had been crowned Women's Waterloo champion only two weeks earlier while Johnstone had teamed up with her husband Tommy to take the Waterloo Pairs title.
Sunday's finale was a closely fought affair. Johnstone had been leading 18-16 at one stage but Smith took the honours with five chalks without reply for a 21-18 success.
Earlier in the week Johnstone had defeated Smith in the Warrington Evening League's Bowler of the Year final.
