RESIDENTS across Middlewich are being given the opportunity to join a residents' group with the aim of tackling all the concerns of the people of the town.

After a great deal of consideration Newton Residents' Association is to expand to encompass all areas of the town and the newly formed Middlewich Residents Association will be launched at the annual general meeting to be held at Chadwick Court tonight, Wednesday.

Chairman of the association Bill Blunn said: "Anyone wishing to come along to the meeting is more than welcome and we will also be taking nominations for positions on the new committee.

"What I would like to see is one resident from every street in the town who can then take responsibility for relaying our messages to everyone in that street."

He added: "By working together we can solve many of the problems in Middlewich."
