Clock Face 14 Widnes Albion Bulls A 20
BACK in action after several weeks without a game, the Albion showed what they can do when they are somewhere near full strength.
They forged a 10-8 interval lead with two tries from player/coach Kev Wright, one after Paul Graham had snapped up a loose ball to put his co-centre on a 50-yard run, and Tony Field converted as good defence kept Clock Face at bay.
Good driving runs from Wayne Swindley, Stu Featherstone and Kev Buck kept the Albion going forward while Neil Unsworth took everything the home team threw at him.
Both sides scored six points with Field landing a goal to add to his try and only two points separated the teams going into the final minutes.
Ste Walsh got the vital score for the Albion with a corner flag try in the only wet part of the pitch leaving him caked in mud but happy to have clinched the points in an excellent away win.
Keep up the good work lads.
The Albion Bulls A are at home to Blackbrook this Saturday, kick off 2pm.
