HALTON'S flagship sports venue, the Halton Stadium, is now live on the worldwide web.

The newly launched website means stadium users and potential users, can take a look around the stadium's facilities, find out about upcoming fixtures and events, and make provisional reservations on line.

Owned and run by Halton Borough Council, the Halton Stadium, in Lowerhouse Lane, Widnes, is a world-class arena for sporting events and is home to the Widnes Vikings and Runcorn FC Halton.

But its superb conference, executive hospitality, banqueting, functions and health and fitness facilities mean that it is far more than that.

Internet surfers can now find out all about these facilities and make initial reservations through the Borough Council's website at www.halton.gov.uk

Cllr Phil Harris, Halton Borough Council's Executive Board member with responsibility for the Halton Stadium, said: "We want as many people as possible to know about the tremendous facilities the Halton Stadium has to offer.

"The website is an important part of a range of marketing activities aimed at developing the stadium to its full potential."

People who do not have access to the Internet can find out more about the facilities at Halton Stadium by calling 0151-510 6000.
