LOCAL amateurs Simms Cross will attempt to pull off a rare Rugby League shock when they take on NFP highfliers Leigh Centurions in the Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Challenge Cup on Sunday, January 27, kick off 3pm.
North West Counties Premier Division champions Simmies will attempt to better their third round exit from last year's competition at the hands of French side Villeneuve.
Chris said: "We know that winning the game is the stuff of dreams. Leigh are serious candidates for Super League and are bound to be strong but if we keep things tight early on and get a few scores ourselves, we could surprise a few people."
Simms Cross triumphed against National Conference Premier side Siddal and the Army to earn the tie againt the Centurions.
Former professionals Darren O'Brien, Andy O'Neill and Paul Tobin will have to be on top of their game to keep the likes of Neil Turley and Vila Matautia at bay.
Turnstile admission to the match is £8 (£4 concessions).
