hit the road in style

PUPILS from Hebden Green Special School can now travel in real style thanks to the generosity of a Winsford company.

KC Autos in Winsford and its sister company, Motor Body Care in Northwich, have given the school a specially adapted, £20,000 Peugeot 806 people carrier as a gift.

Andrew Farren, headteacher at Hebden Green, said: "We are absolutely delighted. It is a real boost to our ability to take pupils from the school to different places in a particularly brilliant vehicle."

Dave Cotterill, managing director of KC Autos, visited the school and was so impressed by the work it does for special needs children he wanted to help in any way that he could.

He said: "You only have to look around the school to feel enthusiastic about the courage of the children and the hard work and warmth of the staff so that is why we made the offer to help.

Ideal

"But it is thanks to the continuous support of our customers and the hard work of all our staff to enable us to be a successful company and put something back into the community."

The people carrier is ideal for school trips, work placements and visits and because it has been adapted with a ramp it is perfect for children who use wheelchairs.

Mr Farren added: "It is a different type of vehicle because it is a people carrier and it is a very nice change for the pupils to have that look to their transport. I'm sure they are delighted with it too.

"We are very pleased to have this relationship with KC Autos and with Dave Cotterill because the warmth and interest he has shown in the school is fantastic."
