POLICE are asking for the public's help in finding a youth who stole a wallet during a distraction burglary in London Road.
The householder answered the door at around 4.05pm on January 17 and was greeted by a youth aged around 17 to 18.
He said something had come over the fence at the back and would like to show it to him.
They went through the house into the back garden but the householder became agitated and asked him to leave before going back inside through the back door.
The youth then escaped by jumping over the fence.
On returning to his house the victim noticed his front door was open and on going into the living room, he found his wallet, containing £65 cash, had been stolen.
The culprit is described as being 5ft 6ins, white European, with a slim build and wearing a fawn coloured jacket.
His victim also noticed a slight foreign accent.
If you know who he might be please ring Northwich Police on 01606 48000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
