Oh no!
NORTHWICH residents can be forgiven for thinking they saw a UFO last week.
The bright light moving across the moon just after 5pm last Wednesday was actually an iridium flare.
The rare sighting was caused by the reflection of the sun's rays from Iridium 56, a satellite, which has flat aluminium plates treated with silver-coated Teflon.
The flare was visible for just a few seconds moving from left to right across the moon at 5.12pm in the centre of Northwich.
Iridium 56 was launched in California on February 18, 1998.
