AN Inn outside Sandbach is to become a regular haunt for more than just humans, when it takes part in a national scheme.

The Bear's Head in Brereton Green is planning to take part in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend.

The pub has installed a special bird feeder and landlady Jo Bebbington will be encouraging customers to keep an eye out for the types of birds who frequent it.

The Big Garden Event helps the RSPB build up a picture of how garden birds are faring in this country and it is due to take place this weekend, January 26 and 27.

All you have to do is spend one hour that weekend recording all the birds you see in your garden.

Jo said: "Our gardens are busy all summer but in the winter we get a different kind of guest.

"We are delighted to be supporting the RSPB is this huge event and we also plan to include pictures of the birds we see on our future menus," Jo added.
