AS a concerned mother of two young children attending Farnworth School, I am appalled by the amount of dog dirt on the path in Pit Lane and surrounding areas.

The area outside the school gates is constantly littered with this awful mess.

The children walk through this mess (as my eldest did) and the infant children have to sit on the carpets for register, were maybe there are dog faeces on somebody else's shoes.

This is a potential health hazard as these little ones are only four to seven years old.

I'm sure if us mums allowed our children to dirty these dog owners' paths, they would be up in arms.

So, please pet owners, consider others and be responsible for your animals. They can't help it, but you can. There is a £1,000 fine if you are caught and the council and the dog wardens have been made aware of this problem as there have been so many complaints from other mums as well as myself.
