IF you're an Alex fan, the last two games have probably reaffirmed your faith in Rodney Jack.

Since signing in 1998, there have always been high expectations of the 29-year-old from St Vincent.

When he's on form, he looks sheer class.

Injuries and a lack of consistency have plagued his Alex career though but he's not about to give up and on recent evidence, he could be ready to deliver.

"To be honest I think there was a lot of expectation of me as I think Crewe paid the second biggest transfer fee for me behind Dave Walton and I scored two goals against Oldham on my debut," revealed Jack

"They did pay a lot of money for me and it's been frustrating because I want to contribute.

"I just want to keep my head down, help Crewe get out of trouble and move on to bigger and better things next season if I'm here.

"I like Crewe and I don't see the point in going anywhere if I'm enjoying my game. I've just got to reproduce the form to show Dario I'm worth a new contract.

"Dean and Rob are two brilliant young strikers so I need to show what I can do to earn a place."

Certainly Dario still believes in Jack.

"I've always admired his talent," he said.

"It disappointing that he hasn't gone as far as I thought he could go. It's been partly down to injuries, international duty and partly down to him.

"But he's solved the international problem and he's working hard now to get more consistency and hopefully he can stay clear of injuries.

"It's not too late for Rodney to realise his full potential."
