HAVING read all the letters in praise of Alison Whitehead's letter about abortion, I feel I should have my say on behalf of the minority who have been condemned for having to make an agonising decision which does not only affect the unborn baby, but the whole future of the person concerned.

Some years ago I had to make that decision, already with a two-year-old son who I was bringing up as a single mother.

I decided to have an abortion because I faced being alone with two children and I have never regretted what I did.

I have since learned by my mistakes and I sincerely hope that all those people who are against abortion have a very easy life and never have to face such agonising decisions.

If they do, then maybe they will regret the pain they have caused to the silent minority who read and were upset by these letters.
