Runcorn RJM Darts League

RNA were kicking themselves after losing out 6/3 to Red Admiral and denying themselves the chance to move to the top of Section Three.

A victory of any description would have enabled them to at least draw level on points with the leaders leaders Tanners after the top side let a 3/0 lead slip away to finally lose out 5/4 to Castle.

There were no positional changes at all in this section with Red Admiral remaining in fourth place and fifth place New Bandits accounting for bottom team Geriatrics by the odd game.

After a run of eight consecutive league defeats Grapes finally returned to winning ways when they beat Pavilions B 5/4.

In Section Four, third placed Lion drew level on points with open dated Croft Magnets when they beat The Tup by the odd game, but neither of these two teams' championship hopes were helped when Masonic, not for the first time this season, failed to put in an appearance, giving the leaders The Burma a 9/0 victory.

Royal Oak found themselves next to the bottom in the table after they lost out 6/3 to Halfway Mixed.

Section One leaders Albion moved two points clear of open dated second placed Lion Doo Waps when they beat an under strength Jolly Brewer 8/1. The best performance came from the losers Brian McNamara who finished in 17 darts.

Roundhouse A consolidated their fifth placed when Jim Reed's 18 dart game helped his team to beat Pirates 5/4.

Tricorn took a step nearer to the Section Two title when Steve Roberts and Mark Smith finished in 16 and 18 darts respectively in a hard fought 5/4 win against Cherry Tree A.

Second placed Old Transporter were also given a stern test by fourth placed Prospect Has Beens before beating them 5/4 and Raven remained in fifth place despite losing 5/4 at home to Pavilions A, with the latter's John Coleshill hitting the only maximum of the night.

Third placed Weaver Lads beat Likely Lads 6/3 and Halton Marauders gained their third victory on the run when they beat Fiddlers III 5/4.

Lion Doo Waps were also beaten 5/4 by Wanderers, despite the former's Mark Pearsall hitting a maximum and Paul Kinsey finishing in 18 darts.

Albion's 6/3 win against Taverners included a 141 finish (57-48-36) from Phil Littler and an 18 darter from Nigel Peterson whilst Mark Smith also finished in 18 darts in helping Tricorn to a 7/2 win against Prospect Has Beens.
