A NEWTON-based company which relocated to the town from Warrington has received a visit from a key member of the borough council.
Clr Alma Atherton, executive member for urban regeneration, made the journey to Brendon International, at Sankey Valley Industrial Estate.
The export packaging and freight-forwarding firm decided to move location in 2000 because it needed to expand.
The borough council offered Andrew Brown, the firm's managing director, purpose-built premises and a convenient location for the motorway network.
Brendon International, which trades overseas, employs 70 people, 40 of them at the Newton base.
This was the first visit undertaken by Clr Atherton since taking on her role in the borough council's executive.
