HERITAGE bosses have granted official protection to an historic bridge.
Following the successful repair of the so-called "Bateman Bridge" in Biddulph it has been given a Grade Two listing.
The bridge is in Grange Road, and has been awarded the listing by the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport.
"This effectively means the bridge is protected for future generations to enjoy," said a Moorlands council officer.
