SENIOR council officers are to take to the road to press home the importance of a new code of conduct for councillors.
The 2000 Local Government Act requires councillors to declare gifts and hospitality and to register interests which might influence the way they carry out their duties.
The duty to declare these matters by signing a statutory register applies to parish as well as district councillors.
A series of Moorlands roadshows is planned.
They include a session at Biddulph Town Hall on February 7 for parish councillors from Biddulph and surrounding area.
